Timberland High School is proud to announce Jeffrey Addison as the school's new head varsity girls basketball coach. A dedicated and accomplished coach with more than 26 years of high school varsity experience, Addison returns to Timberland with a legacy of success and a deep connection to the community.
Addison's basketball journey comes full circle after beginning his own high school career at nearby St. Stephen High School, one of the legacy schools that later consolidated to form Timberland High. Known as a defensive specialist with a strong emphasis on fundamental skill development, Addison has built a reputation for helping to develop disciplined, competitive, and successful programs.
During his previous tenure at Timberland, Addison helped lead teams to eight Regional Championships, two Lower State Championships, and two State Championships in 2005 and 2011.
"Coach Addison brings an incredible level of experience, leadership, and passion for student-athletes to this role," said Timberland High Principal Timothy Evans. "His history of success at Timberland speaks for itself, but more importantly, he understands the importance of building up young student athletes both on and off the court. We are excited to welcome him back home to lead our girls basketball program."
Addison is known for his commitment to strong foundational fundamentals, defensive discipline, and high-IQ, fast-paced basketball. Beyond wins and championships, he is deeply committed to the growth of student athletes, emphasizing academic excellence, mental toughness, character development, and the life skills necessary for long-term success.
"I am honored and excited about this opportunity," said Addison. "This community and school have always held a special place in my heart. I look forward to building relationships with our students, families, and community as we work together to continue the proud tradition of Timberland basketball."
Throughout his career, Addison has helped develop numerous college-bound student-athletes while fostering a team culture centered on accountability, discipline, and excellence.

Timberland High is excited to announce the hiring of Brooks Burnette as its new Head Football Coach. A proud alumnus of Timberland, Burnette returns home to lead the Wolves football program with a clear vision for success both on and off the field.
Coach Burnette brings extensive coaching experience and a proven record of excellence. Most recently, he has served as Head Strength and Conditioning Coordinator and Offensive Coordinator at Woodland High School, where he helped lead the program to a Lower State Championship appearance. In a true full-circle moment, Burnette faced his alma mater during that run, coaching against his former high school coach on one of the state’s biggest stages.
Throughout his career, Coach Burnette has been recognized as one of the top offensive minds in the area. He was named Region Offensive Coordinator of the Year in 2021 and has been selected to coach in several prestigious events, including the SCFCA Palmetto Combine Series and multiple high school all-star showcases.
A former standout at Timberland, Burnette played quarterback and defensive back for the Wolves from 2002–2005. During his time, the Wolves captured region championships in three of his four seasons, contributing to the rise of Timberland as one of the Lowcountry’s winningest programs.
Following his high school career, Burnette continued his playing career at Newberry College from 2006–2010, where he played free safety and further developed his understanding of the game at the collegiate level.
“Coach Burnette’s return to Timberland is a special moment for our school and community,” said Principal Tim Evans. “He understands what it means to be a Wolf, having been a part of the teams that helped establish Timberland as one of the most successful programs in the Lowcountry. He brings passion, discipline, and a commitment to excellence that will elevate our football program. We are excited to welcome him home and confident in the future under his leadership.”
Burnette’s connection to Timberland High School and Berkeley County football runs deep. His late father, Rick, along with his brothers, have all coached in the area, building a strong family tradition rooted in the game and community. That legacy continues to shape Burnette’s passion for coaching and his commitment to student athletes as he returns to the place where his football journey began.
“Returning to Timberland is incredibly meaningful to me,” said Coach Brooks Burnette. “This is where I grew up as a player and developed a lifelong love for this game. My family’s legacy in Berkeley County football and schools helped shape who I am today, and I carry that with me every time I step on the field. Timberland has a proud tradition as one of the winningest programs in the Lowcountry, and I’m honored to come back and lead the Wolves. My goal is to help our student-athletes compete at the highest level and continue cementing Timberland as the standard of excellence in our area.”
Burnette holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Newberry College and a Master’s in Education in Administration and Supervision from Southern Wesleyan University. He is also certified in Driver’s Education through Erskine College.
