Tyler Rio

Tyler graduated from Goose Creek High School and was a 5-year varsity starter for the Gators from 2010 to 2014. He went on to attend Southern Wesleyan University, where he played infield and pitched for the Warriors from 2014 to 2018.

After his playing days, Tyler served as a Graduate Assistant coach at Southern Wesleyan from 2018 to 2020. In 2021, he transitioned to Timberland High School and has been coaching at Hanahan High School since the 2024 season.

Outside of the baseball field, Tyler is employed at NIWC Atlantic as a Contract Specialist. Tyler and his wife, Emily Rio, currently reside in the North Charleston area and plan to stay local to give back to the community that raised them.
